It's been a long time, if ever, that Woody Harrelson has opened a movie big but his comedic turn in Zombieland helped push the LOL horror flick to the number one spot on this weekend's box office report. It pulled in an estimated $25 million in ticket sales. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in still going strong. It came in second with $16.7 million. The animated Toy Story/Toy Story 2 (3D) was in third place with $12.5 million. The Invention of Lying was a disappointing fourth place with just $7.4 million in its opening weekend. Surrogates held on to fifth place with $7.3 million.
The rest of the top 10: Capitalism: A Love Story - $4.8 million; Drew Barrymore's Whip It - $4.8 million; Fame - $4.7 million; The Informant! - $3.8 million; Love Happens - $2.8 million.
