So much for those Jesus Luz marriage rumors. Madonna, in her eighth appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, said she would rather get run over by a train than get married again.

Madonna, looking a fraction of her 51 years in a sleek black dress, was married to Oscar-winner Sean Penn for four years from 1985-1989 and director Guy Ritchie for eight years from 2000-2008.

"It was the Bush years," she said, referring to her time with Ritchie. "A good time to be out of America."

The Material Girl, who Letterman admitted is one of the few celebrities whose star power excites him, was carried into Letterman's studio by the New York Ranger hockey team. Madonna, who has dated prominent athletes including juiced-up baseball sluggers Alex Rodriguez and Jose Canseco, as well as ex-NBA rogue Dennis Rodman, joked that hockey was the one sport whose talent pool she hadn't tapped into.

When Letterman pressed on the issue of Rodriguez, Madonna responded with a quick jab about how Dave was almost "arrested" the last time he used Rodriguez in a punchline (a reference to the Sarah Palin controversy Dave was embroiled in earlier this year).

Another instance of how old we're getting: the piece featured a brief vignette of Madonna's show biz-aspiring 12-year-old daughter, Lourdes, clad in the wedding dress from her 1985 video Like A Virgin. The proud mom tabbed her a “troublemaker” -- we wonder where she gets it from.
