Discussing her son Wolfgang Van Halen, the One Day At A Time alum said she’s had a hard time coping with the 18-year-old musician's new found adulthood, which has left her on the outside looking in at times.

"My son doesn't always want me around, as much as I want to be around him," Bertinelli wrote in her new book, Finding It.
On the topic of her ex-husband, 80s guitar hero Eddie Van Halen, she said that the pair have been getting along better as co-parents to Wolfgang. The actress said that her and her boyfriend, producer Tom Vitale, had a bird’s eye view when the rocker married his publicist, Janie Liszewski, earlier this year.

“Tom and I even sat in the front row at Ed's wedding last summer," she said.
