Swoosh! Michael Vick, Nike In Business Again

It's official: Michael Vick is marketable again.

The Philadelphia Eagles QB has inked an endorsement deal with shoe juggernaut Nike, who had cut ties with Vick following his 2007 conviction for what they called "inhumane, abhorrent and unacceptable" conduct pertaining to his involvement in a dog fighting ring.

"Mike has a long-standing, great relationship with Nike, and he looks forward to continuing that relationship," Vick's agent, Joel Segal, said Wednesday.

The shoe company was a tad more standoffish in discussing the new business arrangement.

"Nike does not have a contractual relationship with Michael Vick," Nike spokesman Kejuan Wilkins said in a statement. "We have agreed to supply product to Michael Vick, as we do a number of athletes who are not under contract with Nike."

Vick sure could use the cash flow, as the scrambling signal-caller in July filed for bankruptcy protection while serving his prison sentence. The former first overall pick said he owed between $10 million to $50 million to creditors.

The Eagles are paying Vick $1.6 million this season, and have an option on the second year for $5.2 million. Vick recently saw his first gameplay since the 2006 season Sunday, and could play extensively in coming weeks as Philly's starting QB, Donovan McNabb, remains sidelined with an injury.
