Letterman's Alleged Extortionist Arrested After Trying To Cash Phony Check

During the press conference they revealed the alleged extortionist, Robert Halderman, was arrested Thursday after attempting to deposit a phony $2 million check that Letterman's lawyers presented him with.

Halderman's Financial Woes

The DA's office said that three meetings were held between Halderman and Letterman's lawyers and that Letterman was not present for any of them.
