Dennis Hopper Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer

Legendary actor Dennis Hopper has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and will cancel all plans in the foreseeable future to treat the deadly disease, his manager, Sam Maydew, said Thursday.

Dennis Hopper Rushed To Hospital

The enigmatic 73-year-old actor was taken to a New York hospital earlier this month and treated for severe flu-like symptoms and dehydration; he will enter a "special program" for treatment at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, according to his manager.

"We're hoping for the best," Maydew said, declining to elaborate on the extent of the cancer.

Hopper, best known for his work in films such as Easy Rider, Blue Velvet, Apocalypse Now and Speed, was last seen in the TV adaptation of the film Crash.
