Chris Brown grazed on the topic of his brutal beating of pop star Rihanna in an interview with Angie Martinez on New York hip-hop station Hot 97 Thursday.

Brown said, though learning in his domestic violence courses, he is “certain this will never happen again. I’ve seen the pain people have been through and I don’t want to inflict that anymore.”

Brown, who begins a “fan appreciation” tour Nov. 14, said he was hoping for forgiveness from his fan base in the wake of the career-impacting incident.

“At the end of the day, I’m human," he said. "Of course you’re gonna have your thoughts and opinions. I’m not gonna say they’re wrong. But at the end of the day, it’s not right to judge someone. People make mistakes all the time.”

Brown said he "just like to get past" recollections of the fateful evening of Feb. 8, when the assault took place.

"At the end of the day, I’m sorry for what I did, whatever it is," Brown said. "Only me and shorty know what went down in the car, it’s between us.”
