Can Obamas Bring Olympics To Windy City?; Decision To Be Announced Friday

The impact of Barack and Michelle Obama's considerable star power will be put to the test Friday, as the International Olympic Committee is slated to announced the location of the 2016 Olympics at 12:45 p.m. EST Friday.

Michelle Obama spent days with officials going to bat for the family's hometown of Chicago to gain the rights to host the athletic extravaganza. The first lady dazzled earlier this week in a sleeveless bronze dress for the opening ceremonies at an IOC-related event at a Copenhagen, Denmark opera house.

Windy City native Jason Erkes, a self-described Chicago 2016 supporter, is in Copenhagen and told RadarOnline.com that the Obamas have stolen the show in their attempts to bring their city the Olympics.

"The consensus around everyone here from the U.S. is that him and Michelle hit it out of the park with their personal stories and appeal," Erkes told us. "The Obama's celebrity-ism is stealing the thunder and capturing the attention of everyone surrounding the Olympic process."
