Oprah Winfrey is setting her sights back onto the big screen. The media mogul is taking her book club love one step further by producing a film adaptation of a book she optioned last year.

Teaming up with Focus Features and director (and Kate Winslet hubby) Sam Mendes' Neal Street Productions, Winfrey -- through her company Harpo Productions -- will bring Netherland to movie theaters.

The book is set in New York City where a lonely Dutch expatriate forms a bond to immigrant culture when he becomes drawn to the sport of cricket.

As always, Winfrey knows how to pick a winner and the film already has a bunch of Oscar-worthy muscle backing it. Penning the script is Christopher Hampton whose last project with Focus Features was Atonement which earned him an Academy Award nomination.
