Madonna Bids Shalom To Landmark $408 Million Tour

Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tour wrapped up in Tel Aviv, Israel Monday on a positive note: The yearlong tour, consisting of 85 shows spanning across 32 counties, grossed a total even the Material Girl can be impressed by -- $408 million, the best ever for a solo artist, breaking the record she set three years ago on her Confessions tour, which grossed $194 million .

"With Sticky & Sweet, Madonna has proven yet again that there is virtually no limit to what she can accomplish both creatively and commercially,” Arthur Fogel, Live Nation’s Chairman of Global Music and CEO of Global Touring, said.

The 50-year-old pop legend's trailblazing path on the tour was dotted by plenty of milestones and records: The 72,000 she drew in Switzerland stands as an attendance records for the country, while the 85,000 she drew in Helsinki, Finland made it the largest single show ever in Scandinavia.

The Material Girl's next album -- Celebration, tabbed as the ultimate anthology of Madonna's music -- hits stores September 29.
