Superstar Jude Law will not get to meet his new baby daughter until December because of his work commitments, it has been revealed.
The Alfie star became a father for the fourth time on Tuesday after his former lover Samantha Burke gave birth to their daughter Sophia in Florida.
But the superstar who has claimed that he intends to be a fully supportive father will not see the tot for three months.
The actor is currently starring in Hamlet at the Broadhurst Theatre on Broadway and it’s understood he was on stage when Sophia was born weighing in at a healthy 5 lbs and 12 oz.
A friend of Law’s told the UK Evening Standard newspaper: “Sadly, he won’t be able to see Sophia until he finishes Hamlet on Broadway.”
The friend added that Law thinks that if he flew to Florida just now it would just create a media circus.
Meanwhile the aspiring actress and former Hooters waitress Burke is in talks about selling her story about her brief fling with the star and the first pictures of the baby.
The 24-year-old is expected to return to her family’s home in Pensacola, Florida, after giving birth to Sophia.
She had started a baby-blog after becoming pregnant by the British star but since her daughter was born she has not up-dated the site.
It’s understood that she has been offered $200,000 for her story about her fling with Law which occurred in New York while he was filming Sherlock Holmes and only lasted for a week.
Law – who already has three kids Rafferty, 12, Rudy, 6, and Iris, 8, with first wife Sadie Frost – only acknowledged two months ago that Burke was having their child.
