Fox's new musically themed show, Glee, is not only roaring its way onto your TV screen but into your iPod and CD Players, as well: The first in a series of soundtracks featuring covers of popular songs from the forthcoming show will be released November 3.

The album is likely based on the fabulous showing a cover Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing’” (the single quickly ascended to No. 1 on the iTunes charts) after Fox aired a preview of the musically-themed show this past May.

Cover songs on the compilation include, amongst others, Billy Idol's "Dancing With Myself," Queen's "Somebody To Love," Kanye West's "Gold Digger," and Rihanna’s “Take a Bow.”

The show is a story about a determined music teacher, played by Matthew Morrison, who tries to salvage the school's waning glee club program with a Bad News Bears-esque array of talents to choose from. The show has garnered positive early returns from critics, such as The Washington Post, who said "one of the show’s major pluses is that the music performed isn’t confined to the latest tuneless melodies." (Take that Simon!)
