Rumors that Disney is preparing to replace Johnny Depp as the star of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise are untrue RadarOnline.com has confirmed.
A spokesperson from Disney denied the reports, telling RadarOnline.com that the rumors “completely unfounded.”
There was online chatter on Monday that Depp might not reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the film’s next installment, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Such talk has been swirling since the studio chief Dick Cook parted ways with the studio earlier this month.

Depp credits Cook for bringing him onboard for the Pirates franchise and told the L.A. Times that his enthusiasm for a fourth film had waned with the news of Cook’s abrupt departure from the studio.
“There's a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm (for the project) at the moment," Depp told the L.A. Times. “It was all born in that office.”
