Gina Gershon often takes on characters with a backbone and the actress is no softie in real life. Responding to allegations that she did not pay her former agency their commission, she denied the claim in a statement to RadarOnline.com and even gives credit to those who helped her achieve her recent success.

“This lawsuit is completely without merit,” the actress said in a statement on Thursday. “Gina Gershon paid full commission to her representatives, talent agency Innovative Artists and management company Untitled Entertainment, who helped her book the Broadway play, Boeing Boeing.”

The lawsuit filed on September 22 with the Los Angeles Superior Court claims Gershon ignored requests from the agency Fortitude to pay their ten percent commission on projects they helped her book. Though the amount of money demanded was not disclosed, they claimed Gershon received “hundreds of thousands of dollars” alone for her part in the Broadway hit last year.

Gershon is headed back to the stage this fall. She is set to star alongside John Stamos in the highly-anticipated revival of “Bye Bye Birdie” on Broadway.
