Comic Sunda Croonquist might have a smaller guest list for Rosh Hashanah this year: the comedienne is being sued for unspecified damages in New Jersey by her own mother-in-law, Ruth Zafrin, who said she spread false, defamatory and racist lies in references to their family in her stand-up act, which mocks all aspects of her vivid cultural tapestry.

Croonquist -- who is half-black, half-Swedish, grew up Roman Catholic, married into a Jewish family and converted into Judaism -- told Fox & Friends Friday that her in-laws, at one time, thought her shtick was funny.

"I can't imagine why this suddenly turned into not funny," she said, noting that she is obviously not an anti-Semite. "Maybe she wants to be a stand-up, I have no idea."

Croonquist said she will edit her act to appease her in-laws, but refuses to pay them any money.

A judge will hear the case Sept. 8.
