Meet the newest soldier in the battle against illiteracy: Robert Pattinson.

Pattinson's popular movie franchise Twilight, written by creator Stephenie Meyer, has overtaken Harry Potter's longevity records on USA Today's best-seller list, as all four parts of Meyer’s Vampire-themed series (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn) have stayed atop the list for an entire calendar year; currently, the novels occupy the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh slots in the top ten.

More 40 million copies of titles in the Twilight series have been sold overall, a number expected to rise with the release of New Moon this November. Literary industry experts said the novels should continue selling like hotcakes, well into next year.
