A police spokesperson in Baltimore, Maryland told RadarOnline.com on Friday that no charges and no citation will be issued in connection with a car accident involving Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps on Thursday night.

Police say Phelps was behind the wheel of a Cadillac Escalade when it collided with another car in an intersection in Baltimore around 9 p.m. Thursday.  While the superstar swimmer and his two passengers were not injured, the female driver of the second car was said to be “shaken up” and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, although Phelps was questioned at the scene, he was not given a field sobriety test, and authorities say alcohol was not involved.

The Police spokesperson Friday characterized the incident as simply “an accident.”
