Kevin Costner -- who walked away unharmed after a thunderstorm caved in a stage at a Canadian music festival him and his band, Modern West, were slated to perform at this past weekend -- said he wants to help the victims in the incident, which killed 35-year-old concertgoer Donna Moore and left more than 75 injured.

"We are so sad about the loss of life and injury that occurred on a day that carried so much promise, but turned so wicked so quickly," the actor said in a statement Monday. "We hope to return to Alberta in the future to help with the healing."

Thousands were camped out at the Big Valley Jamboree when the storm hit, approximately at 6 p.m. Saturday. The actor/musician stayed to help victims, including a band member whose arm was trapped by the falling debris.

Costner's publicist, Arnold Robinson, said that "in the event that there is any type of benefit to support the victims, Costner would hope to be a part of it."
