TV: Thursday Hot List

For fans of Survivor, tonight the 20th edition of the show kicks off with something pretty darn special. Survivor: Heroes vs Villains brings together all your favorite naughty and nice castaways from the show’s history for the ultimate test of, well, you guessed it—survival. The action takes place in Samoa and among the “heroes” are Rupert Boneham and Colby Donaldson and the “villains” feature Russell Hantz and “Boston” Rob Mariano.

Okay, so while we’re on the subject of great reality TV—are you watching this season of Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew? If you’re not—stop what you’re doing and set your DVR right now. Those “stars” trying to get sober include former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss, her abusive ex Tom Sizemore, the infamous Mackenzie Phillips and former NBA bad boy Dennis Rodman. Dennis completely denies that he has a problem and claims he’s only there because the courts made him. Let’s see what happens tonight when former celeb rehabber Brigitte Nielsen stops by to inspire the patients—and possibly gets Dennis to finally admit that he has a problem!

After a break for the Olympics and to make room for the birth of Jim and Pam’s baby last week, 30 Rock is back. Tonight, poor Liz Lemon believes that she met her soul mate at the dentist—and goes on a full-fledged mission to track him down and win him over. And Elizabeth Banks returns as conservative newscaster Avery who breaks the news to Jack that a cable company may buy NBC. Meanwhile, Jenna helps Tracy on his mission to win an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony) by helping him win the Tony portion of that equation.

Have you been watching The Marriage Ref? You know, the new Jerry Seinfeld produced show that takes mundane fights between married couples and leaves it up to a panel of celebrities to decide who’s in the right? Definitely add it to your list tonight as it’s hilarious and comedian Tom Papa—he serves as the actual “ref”—is just hysterical.

And, there’s lots of craziness on Bravo—check out the second part of the drama filled Real Housewives of Orange County reunion followed by a new episode of the Real Housewives of New York City. Tonight, Ramona and LuAnn both throw parties on Labor Day—forcing the other ladies to choose!

TV: Thursday Hot List

Thursday is truly the night of must-see TV and you’re in for a treat with tonight’s line-up! Where to start? How about the beginning! Community is all-new with special guest star Jack Black. He plays a potential new study group member and we can’t wait to see him go head to head with Joel McHale’s snarkiness! And for an added bonus, there are back-to-back, all-new episodes of 30 Rock. The first features guest star James Franco and on the second episode, Jenna attempts to land a role on Gossip Girl! OMFG, you know that’s going to be hilarious!

Back-to-back episodes seem to be the theme as we are also blessed with two full hours of our favorite Guidos and Guidettes from The Jersey Shore! The gang heads to Atlantic City where Snooki and J-Wow go head to head with The Situation. And then DJ Pauly D discovers that he has a stalker while another roommate finds themselves in jail!  That sounds like a situation right there!

Project Runway premieres their second season on their new home Lifetime. We really and truly pray there’s some drama and fights in store for us unlike last season’s snooze fest. At least they’re back in NYC where they belong and Nina Garcia and Michael Kors full-time judges again!

Oh wait—we’re not done yet! You can’t miss out on the Grey’s Anatomy/Private Practice crossover event. The episodes focus on Mark’s newfound daughter, complications with her pregnancy and of course Addison is the only one that can help them!

Alas, the holiday themed episodes are upon us!  Tonight on The Office, Phyllis and Michael square off over who will play Santa while Jim and Dwight attempt to spread some holiday cheer. Poor Jim—we really hope he figures out that Dwight is plotting some major revenge against him stat—before the baby comes would be ideal!  On 30 Rock, Kenneth tries to arrange for a gift swap while Liz has no idea what to do about a gift for Jack. And, Julianne Moore guest stars as Jack’s ex that he reconnects with on a social networking site!

But, Bravo has an early holiday gift for you tonight!  Behold, The Real Housewives of Atlanta: The Lost Footage! More drama, more reunion footage and never aired scenes—we didn’t realize we were that good this year to deserve such a treat!

On a new episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Lynn and her daughter go in for some mother-daughter plastic surgery (face lift for mom and nose job for daughter) while Vicki invites all the ladies for a girl’s weekend in Florida!

Attention Real Housewives fans—the tension between the ladies of Orange County is about to get that much thicker. First, welcome Alexis Bellino, the newest housewife tonight that makes her debut on the show tonight. She’s just in time as the fighting between Tamra and Gretchen grows to nastier and more viscous levels!

Grey’s Anatomy welcomes Kim Raver as the newest surgeon at Seattle Grace tonight. We love, love, loved her on Lipstick Jungle so we think she’s the perfect addition. And, Katherine Heigl is back after her brief hiatus (to film a movie and welcome home her newly adopted daughter). We can’t wait to see if Alex is happy to see her—or planning on giving Izzie the silent treatment. Our bet is on the latter.

We have some truly amazing news. After the poor, poor decision on NBC’s part to hold off on bringing back new episodes of 30 Rock until JANUARY—they came to their senses and realized that it was too mean to make us wait. So, we are happy to reveal that new episodes start tonight! We’re pretty sure that Emmy win for Best Comedy they scored a few weeks ago had a lot to do with this smart, smart move!  Season four kicks off with Jack deciding that changes are needed at TGS to stay on top during the recession, Jenna making over her image, Tracy reacing out to the common man and Kenneth leading a page strike. We are just psyched to have the gang back ahead of schedule!

And Grey’s Anatomy heats up tonight as the merger between Seattle Grace and Mercy West begins and it’s every doctor for his or her self. While all that’s going on—Arizona and Callie weather yet another hurdle in their relationship when Callie’s dad arrives with a priest to talk to Callie about dating men instead of women.

There’s also a familiar face on Private Practice when Dr. Miranda Baily comes to Oceanside Wellness with a patient. Apparently, her old friend Addison is not the only one who is happy to see her!
