TV: Friday Hot List
Jul. 16 2009, Published 1:46 p.m. ET
If you’re wondering why the TV listings are looking a little lean tonight, well it’s because the Winter Olympics kick off and who’s going to want to compete with that? The games are taking place in Vancouver and the opening ceremony is full of tradition. Live from Vancouver’s BC Palace, the event honors the customs of Canada as well as the parade of nations (more than 2500 athletes from 85 nations are expected to appear), the athlete’s oath and the lighting of the Olympic cauldron. Oh and what about the events? Don’t worry—tonight things get going with ski jumping!
But if sports aren’t necessarily your thing—even Olympic sports—then definitely tune into VH1 for their new show Famous Crime Scene. It takes the vibe of CSI to investigate the famous deaths of celebrities. Tonight delves into the 1996 drive-by shooting of Tupac Shakur with reenactments and interviews from witnesses and experts.
