Janet Jackson unsuccessfully attempted an intervention on her brother Michael Jackson, only to be turned away by the Thriller singer's security team, according to a new report Thursday.

Janet visited her brother Michael two years ago, after he moved to Las Vegas in hopes of reviving his career with a standing show, a la Celine Dion. The Pleasure Principal singer, according to CNN, was horrified by the gaunt appearance of her brother Michael in February 2007 (the same month Anna Nicole Smith fatally overdosed).

Janet then brought two of her brothers back to Jackson's barren Las Vegas mansion to attempt an intervention, but was turned away by Michael's security team. Michael also, according to CNN, refused to take phone calls from his concerned mother Katherine regarding his condition.

In addition, a People magazine story from that year detailing the alleged intervention was addressed by the Jackson family in a statement -- sans Janet's signature -- that read the clan was "categorically denying ever planning, participation in or having knowledge of any kind of intervention whatsoever."
