Everyone out of the water!  Shark Week is back on the Discovery Channel for its 22nd year with it’s most death defying, spine tingling, nerve wracking extravaganza to date! We’re here to tell you how to sink your teeth into all the drama so you don’t miss a minute.

The jaws come out on August 2nd with Blood in the Water kicking things off. It’s a two-hour drama that documents the true story that inspired Jaws—the most famous shark movie ever! Lets just say the whole thing began on the New Jersey shore in 1916 when five people were attacked in 12 days . . .

Other new shows premiering throughout the week include Day of the Shark 2 that showcases what happens when sharks go where humans don’t want them. Events include a great white breaking through a 300-pound aluminum shark cage and a bull shark invading a spearfishing trip in the Bahamas.

Survivorman’s Les Stroud gets in on the action with Deadly Waters and ventures to five, count them five, of the most shark-infested waters to see which is most dangerous. Yes, he is crazy. And Great White Appetite attempts to learn more about the elusive great white shark—they patrol 50 percent of the world’s inhabited coastlines and are the most feared predators on earth—yet very little is known about them.

Finally, Shark After Dark begs the question—what do sharks do when the sun goes down? And Sharkbite Summer heads to sites where sharks attacked and use news footage, interviews with victims, shark experts and more to paint a clear picture of what happened.

But don’t fear . . . according to the International Shark Attack Files, you only have a 1 in 11.5 million chance of being attacked by a shark. And lets say that it did happen? Well,  you only have a less than 1 in 264 million chance of being killed by said attack!
