EXCLUSIVE VIDEO INTERVIEW: Ailing Mischa Barton Misses Premiere Of Her New Movie; Film’s Director & Producer Reacts

It should have been her big night, but instead of being at the premiere of her new movie, The Homecoming, in New York Thursday night, actress Mischa Barton was undergoing psychiatric evaluation at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Police were called to Barton’s home in Los Angeles Wednesday, just hours before she was supposed to fly to New York for the premiere.
Sources say she was acting erratically and was taken to the hospital for involuntary psychiatric hold under CA Code 5150, the same procedure used when Britney Spears had her much-publicized melt-down in January 2008.

RadarOnline.com was at Thursday night’s after party for The Homecoming in the Big Apple, and talked with the film’s director and producers.
Austin Stark, producer of The Homecoming, told RadarOnline.com exclusively: “She always acted like a professional. She was always on time. She came prepared and I think she did a great job in the movie, and I never honestly noticed anything. She’s a very nice girl.”
The film’s director, Morgan J. Freeman, told us: “My hopes and thoughts are with her right now, and I hope she’s doing well and I just send my thoughts and prayers her way….. Health first, movie second.”

A source tells RadarOnline.com that no decision has been made on how long Barton will remain hospitalized.
This is not Barton’s first run-in with authorities. She was charged in February 2008 with four criminal counts related to a 2007 DUI arrest
Barton was charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, one misdemeanor count of driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08% or higher, one count of being an unlicensed driver and one count of possession of marijuana (28.5 grams or less).
In April 2008, the actress pleaded out the charges and received 36 months probation, alcohol education classes and a fine.
Barton's publicist is not commenting on the latest incident involving her. Her attorney Anthony Salerno told RadarOnline.com, "Out of respect for her privacy, I prefer not to say anything at this time."
