Bruno: Too Hot For Ukraine
Jul. 16 2009, Published 10:10 a.m. ET
Bruno is the top film in America, but don't count on the Sacha Baron Cohen comedy to tear up the box office in the Ukraine -- the culture ministry for the ex-Soviet state announced Wednesday it has "decided to ban all showings of this film on Ukrainian territory."
The ministry said the film presented "artistically unjustified exhibition of sexual organs and sexual relations, homosexual acts in a blatantly graphic form, obscene language, sadism and anti-social behavior" in coming to its decision; nine of 14 panel members approved a complete ban on the film.
