Amy Winehouse arrives at Westminster Magistrates Court Thursday morning in London to stand trial on a charge of assaulting a fan at a charity event.

The Rehab singer - sporting her trademark beehive and a smart grey suit -- gasped as she saw more than 60 photographers jostling outside the courthouse.

Winehouse, 25, is accused of attacking Sherene Flash in Berkeley Square last September after performing at a function. She has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Flash, 30, is said to have asked her for a photo and while the star initially agreed, she then allegedly lashed out.

Winehouse – who’s famously struggled with drink and drug problems in recent years --was divorced by her estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil last week on grounds of adultery.

Winehouse’s mother, Janis, gave a rare interview this week in which she described the singer as recovering well after her health and addiction problems.

“A year ago, everyone was saying: ’Will she get through this, will she even survive?” she said. “And look at her now. We’ve got the old Amy back. I always knew she’d come through it. And I know she doesn’t want to go back to the drugs.”

“St Lucia was good in many ways because there were no hard drugs around, but she was bored, so she drank,” she told Closer magazine. “I’ve spent some time with her since she got back. She’s put on a bit of weight and looks better than she has in a long time.”
