Former supermodel Rachel Hunter has been left devastated after her ice hockey star fiancé Jarret Stroll called-off their wedding just seven weeks before they were due to tie the knot.

Rod Stewart’s ex-wife, 39, has been left heartbroken when Stroll, 27, failed to give her a reason after he sent out e-mails informing guests that the August 14 nuptials were cancelled.

The wedding list contained some big stars such as Sharon Stone and Michelle Pfeiffer as well as the New Zealand model’s friends and family.

Both her teenagers Renee, 17, and Liam, 14, are reportedly trying to comfort their famous mom whose life has been turned upside down by the news.

The Los Angeles Kings hockey star proposed to Hunter last August after two years of dating, and the couple recently splashed-out $3.5 million to buy a home in Hermosa Beach, California.

A friend of Hunter’s told the UK Sun newspaper: “She is absolutely devastated. Everything was in place for the wedding – she had the designer dress, the venue and guest list. She has no idea why Jarret has done this. It sounds like it could be a classic case of cold feet. He is a fair bit younger than her. "

Hunter has also received support from her famous ex Stewart – the couple married in 1990 when Hunter was only 21.

After nine years of marriage, they split in 1999, but only got divorced in 2006 after Rod announced his intentions to wed long-term love Penny Lancaster.
