The half-brother of US President Barack Obama will tell his story of transitioning from a poverty-stricken teen-aged thief to renowned advocate for the poor in an Simon & Schuster book slated for release early next year, the company said Sunday.
George Obama, a 27-year-old resident of Huruma, Kenya, is 20 years younger than his famous brother and didn’t meet the commander-in-chief until they were both adults.
Simon & Schuster publisher David Rosenthal — who reportedly gave the president’s sibling a six-figure deal for the book — has a “moving, inspirational” story to tell.
“It is an object lesson in survival, selflessness and courage,” he said.
