American Idol Talent Adam Lambert Has a Little Secret

The San Diego native, before his ascension to stardom, lent his vivid vocals to 11 tracks in 2005 which are now, conveniently, finding their way to the marketplace in an album called "On with the Show". The first single, Want, has already surfaced online, according to reports. The music, according to Rolling Stone, was produced during Lambert's three-year partnership with producer Malcolm Welsford and Wilshire Records.

The American Idol runner-up issued a statement regarding the upcoming release, implying that the work was not exactly Simon Cowell-worthy.

"Back in 2005, when I was a struggling artist, I was hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else," Lambert said, according to TV Guide. "I was broke at the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks, so I jumped at the opportunity to record for my first time in a professional studio. The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in the studio working on."
