NEW PHOTO: Madonna Expresses Herself... For The Worse

Madonna's had a lot on her mind lately and maybe it's impacting her fashion sense.

Taking a break from her attempts to adopt a 4-year-old Malawi orphan, the singer took some fashion risks on the red carpet of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala event Monday night, and they didn't pan out for the better.

Clad in thigh-high, zip-up stripper boots, a ruffled blue-green dress from Louis Vitton's upcoming Fall collection and a headpiece best described as the world's largest scrunchie, the 50-year-old singer's mismashed get-up seemed like a desperate at recapturing the spotlight from the younger, better dressed divas in attendance.
