A judge in Los Angeles, California will receive a progress report Thursday morning on Redmond O'Neal, the troubled son of actor Ryan O'Neal and the ailing Farrah Fawcett.

Redmond, 24, was recently admitted to a drug program following his pleas in two separate drug-related cases.

The program, at Wayside Honor Ranch, is an in-custody treatment. If he fails to make it through successfully, O'Neal could face up to four years in state prison.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, District Attorney Tony Estradas addressed O'Neal in court earlier this month and said: "Redmond O'Neal, welcome to drug court. This is an opportunity for you to change your life. If you successfully complete the program, any outstanding cases, past convictions, probation, will be dismissed and cleared from your record."

“The program will take at least one year.  During that time you will work with counselors. You will submit to drug tests, one-on-one counseling, a 12-step program. You will come to court frequently. People will help you. As part of this program, you must have a job, or schooling to help you get a job."

"We don't want you to be in jail, we want you to beat your addiction. If you fail to comply with your counselors, you could be sanctioned with writing an essay, community service, or jail."

Redmond is not expected to be in court for Thursday's hearing. RadarOnline.com will be there though, and will bring you updates as soon as they happen. (Photo: Buzz Photo)
