Jon & Kate Plus 8 Address Rumors, Strike Back At Tabloids In Season Premiere

Jon and Kate Gosselin, the reality TV couple at the center of controversy after allegations of infidelity surfaced against both, addressed recent whispers of a marriage in crisis on on the Monday premiere of their highly-rated show on TLC -- kind of.

When asked, at show's end, if they know what the future holds for the parents of twins and sextuplets answered with an awkward silence as the show faded to black.

Otherwise, the couple had plenty to say, specifically the recent tabloid fodder that each have been spotted with new paramours: Jon with a 23-year-old schoolteacher, and Kate with her bodyguard.

"I never read a tabloid magazine until I was in one," Jon said about the accusations levied against him. "And the first one I bought was the last one I bought."

Kate Gosselin touched on the growing rift with her husband.

"Very swiftly we turned into two different people, and it's just hard," she said. "So he's angry with me that he's home and I'm not. Yet he doesn't really feel great about me, so he wants me to travel. It is so involved I almost can't put it into words."

Kate, however, had plenty of words when asked if she was involved with her bodyguard, Steve Neild.

She said: "Did I ever think I'd see myself on the front of the tabloids?Or see those words that are there?  No. It kills me!"

"I think the thing that makes me the maddest is: Jon made some mistakes and he was out and whatever, and that made people question him," Kate said. "I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm working and traveling -- I'll be darned if they're going to take me down with that."
