Idols Adam Lambert, Kris Allen Light Up The Big Apple

American Idol's top two contestants Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, appeared before hordes of cheering fans in New York Thursday in a joint appearance on the Today Show.

Both performed for the audience assembled outside Thursday.

Allen, 23, said it was a relief to perform without having to be judged, and added the non-stop grind has continued since the show's end; both have been promoting their budding single careers since the show's end.

Lambert, 27, commented, "It's been really exciting, exhausting and surreal, all at the same time."

Before that happens, both will appear on this summer's American Idol tour, which begins July 5 in Portland, Oregon.
