Twilight star Peter Facinelli and his 90210 star wife Jennie Garth have come to the aid of Jennie’s best friend, Patrice Jennings-Thompson after she was arrested on charges of Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Patrice,  an actress who made several guest appearances on Jennie’s sitcom What I like About You in 2005 and 2006, was taken into custody on May 21 after allegedly shooting at her boyfriend Darin Rado at his Studio City, CA. mini-mansion which was also home to Patrice’s two teenage children from a previous relationship.

Fortunately, a source told RadarOnline.com, Patrice only ended up hitting the TV set; but fearing for his life, Rado did call 911 and the LAPD responded in force within minutes.

Patrice was handcuffed at the scene, transported to the LAPD’s North Hollywood station and booked.

Rado arranged for the $50,000 bail and sent the older of Patrice’s teenagers to the police station to handle getting mom released.

That’s where Garth and Facinelli stepped in.

They raced over to the police station, picked Patrice up and took the distraught woman and her younger child back to their home for the next several days.

Jennie and Peter are now helping their friend find a new apartment and start over.

When asked about the incident, a clearly distressed Rado told RadarOnline it was “not a good time to talk.”

A spokeswoman for Facinelli and Garth declined to comment.
