Dressgate starring Barbara Walters, this week's fashion scandal surrounding the media queen's choice to wear the same look multiple times in a week made headlines and  even earned the opening spot on The View.

Barbara is not alone, however, and stylist to the stars Phillip Bloch spoke with RadarOnline.com about fashion repeats and the rules stars should abide by!

In regards to Barbara's choices, Bloch, the fashion savvy genius behind Halle Berry and other A-listers award winning styles tells us, "That is just really weird! It is kind of a little disrespectful."

"I believe that as a celebrity you have a certain image to maintain.  To wear the same dress to two highly publicized events in a week is odd, don't scream when you can whisper."

Likewise Hushi Mortezaie, creative director of Trash & Luxury, says "Regardless of fame, I would say twice is the maximum for statement dressing. Some looks are so memorable and amazing that it's essential to bring them back. Basics are irrelevant in this case - you can wear them over and over."

Bloch believes that Lindsay and Ali Lohan did fashion rerun correctly when Lindsay wore a Chloe top, stashed it away, and Ali turned out the fab sequin number two years later.   "That is the perfect solution for a lot of celebrities," Bloch explains, "I love the idea of giving it to a relative to wear - relatives clearly don't have what we have."

On Cher's 17 year old getup repeat, Bloch laughs, "clearly she was turning back time."

Bloch's rules for celebrity fashion repeats are:

- Wear it to a few small things and then something big.

- Wait two years and then wear it again, or at least a couple of weeks or months.

- Give it to a relative to wear.

- This is the reason celebrities borrow clothes -- so they don't have this issue.

Ultimately, it is not wrong to repeat, reuse, and recycle fashion, but don't be blatant about it.  Remember: "Don't scream when you can whisper!"
