Losing last week's adoption bid of a 4-year-old Malawi child hasn't embittered Madonna.
The material girl made a donation, reportedly in the neighborhood of $500,000, to help victims of a 6.3 magnitude earthquake in the Italian region of Abruzzo Monday; the quake killed more than 200 and left another 50,000 homeless.
Madonna has ties to the region; her paternal grandparents lived in Pacentro, a town close to the earthquake's epicenter, until 1919.
