Idol: Adam Lambert Makes Paula Abdul Cry
Apr. 22 2009, Published 8:07 a.m. ET
Idol's breakout star -- Adam Lambert -- has already gotten plenty of gushing reviews and even standing ovations from the judges.
Last night, he brought one of them to tears.
The 27-year-old Los Angeles native lit up the Las Vegas strip (the show was filmed in Sin City) with a slow, deliberate interpretation of the Bee Gees' If I Can't Have You, turning it into a ballad.
The performance, choc full of passion and emotion, moved judge Paula Abdul to tears. Kara Dioguardi described his performance as brilliant, Randy Jackson proclaimed him ready for the big leagues and Simon Cowell told him his vocals were immaculate.
