Looking shocked and surprised, Phil Spector posed for his mugshot after being convicted of 2nd degree murder this afternoon in Los Angeles.

Producer and songwriter Phil Spector has been found guilty in the charge of second degree murder, and will serve an anticipated sentence of 15 years to life.

Spector, donning a red suit and handkerchief with a dark suit, yawned as he awaited a jury to deliver his verdict in Los Angeles today.

The family of victim Lana Clarkson looked on in tears as the verdict was read, RadarOnline can report. Spector showed no emotion as his fate was handed down, onlookers tell us, and was shortly after taken into custody. He will be sentenced on May 29.

In addition to second degree murder, Spector faces a charge of Use of a Firarm, that carries and additional 5-10 years behind bars.

This was the second trial for the music man in relation to the shooting death of Clarkson, an actress found dead in Spectors home outside of Los Angeles in 2003.

Scandals

The first attempt to convict Spector on charges of second degree murder was declared a mistrial after six months in 2007. A second trial selected their jury in October of 2008, with proceedings carrying over into late March of 2009.

Spector, who has worked with legends the likes of John Lennon and Tina Turner, claimed Clarksons death was an accidental suicide (the 40-year-old was found dead shot through the roof of her mouth).

Defense for Spector, 69, has argued largely that all evidence is circumstantial, and not enough proof existed that Clarkson didnt kill herself.

Prosecution has largely maintained Spector was and is dangerous, a drug addict and even confessed to a staffer the night of Clarksons death, I think I killed somebody.
