Elizabeth Edwards reveals in her new book that when husband John Edwards confessed he cheated on her she ran to the bathroom and threw up.

But don't think that the former presidential candidate was finally owning up to his behavior. Even then, Elizabeth reveals, John lied about his relationship with Rielle Hunter, claiming he slipped up only once.

And in an extremely interesting omission she never addresses the issue of paternity of Rielle Hunter's baby. John says the child is not his. Rielle has told close friends it is John's baby.

Elizabeth's book Resilence will be published May 12. The New York Daily News obtained an advance copy of the book.

Elizabeth says she wanted John to quit the presidential race after he confessed cheating, fearing the scandal would come out eventually. "He should not have run," she writes.

Battling cancer, Elizabeth still stood by her cheating, lying man. Interestingly she never mention Edwards' lover, Rielle Hunter, by name. She does however heap plenty of scorn on her, calling Rielle "pathetic" and saying she seduced John with the pickup line, "You are so hot."

Now we know why John couldn't resist!

Edwards affair was exposed by the National Enquirer, which first found a visibly pregnant Hunter stashed in a gated North Carolina development, around the corner from a close Edwards' pal, Andrew Young. When the first story broke, Edwards was running for president and denied the affair, calling it "tabloid lies."

But approximately six months later the Enquirer cornered Edwards at a Los Angeles hotel after a late-night visit to Hunter and what she says is their baby. At that point Edwards had dropped out of the presidential race but was a leading contender for the post of attorney general. So much pressure was put on him by the media that he had to admit the affair, but still denied paternity. (Photo: AP Images)
