The trial of a Georgia man who told authorities he was good friends with Tyra Banks after his arrest on stalking charges a year ago begins today in New York.

"I know her. She knows me. We're good friends," said the accused stalker, 38-year-old Brady Green, according to court documents. "We had a thing together. I sent her flowers. I sent her cards. Should I plead no contest? I've got satellites watching me and recording us."

Green, who told authorities he traveled across the country by bus to see the 35-year-old host of The Tyra Banks Show and America's Next Top Model, was arrested on March 18 of last year after attempting to contact Banks at the Manhattan studio where her talk show is taped. A building official told police Green has also shown up at the Los Angeles studio Banks works out of.

Green, according to court documents, also threatened an assistant on Banks' talk show over the phone, when she wouldn't give him the supermodel's home address.

"You're expletive lying," he said. "I'm going to find you and slit your throat."

Green is charged with stalking, harassment and criminal trespass. He's pleaded not guilty to all charges.
