Accused Craigslist Killer Suicidal, Fiance Says Wedding Still On

The fiance of accused Craigslist killer Phillip Markoff said the pair's August wedding is still on, RadarOnline.com has learned, while the 23-year-old medical student remains on suicide watch at Boston's Nashua St. jail after authorities detected shoe lace marks on his neck.
The Boston University student is suspected of killing a woman and attacking another, both of whom he contacted via the popular Web site Craigslist.
Police Friday said they will continue to scout the popular Web site for more of Markoff's possible victims; two other women unrelated to the aforementioned incidents have also reported incidents with Markoff, Fox News reported.
His fiancee, a comely 22-year-old named Megan McAllister, said "he could not hurt a fly" in an e-mail she sent to ABC News Tuesday. "All I have to say to you is Philip is a beautiful person inside and out... we expect to marry in August and share a wonderful, meaningful life together."
"People fall in love and want to see what they want to see," family therapist Charles Foster of Cambridge told the Boston Herald Friday of McCallister's support. "It’s a fool’s paradise."
Officials suspect that Markoff targeted the victims of the crimes -- 26-year-old masseuse Julissa Brisman and a 26-year-old prostitute from Las Vegas -- because they might have been defenseless targets carrying large sums of he might have needed to paid off gambling debts. Fox News legal expert Jeanine Pirro speculated that Markoff was a serial killer in the mold of Ted Bundy, and gambled as a way of rewarding himself after committing the heinous acts.
Markoff, via attorneys, entered a plea of not guilty Tuesday in Boston Municipal Court to the charges of murder, kidnapping, and armed robbery.
