As for her accident, according to a report the actress fell during a ski lesson on a beginner's trail at Station Mont Tremblant in Quebec, Canada.  Accompanied by an experienced ski instructor, the actress did not show any visible sign of injury after the ski patrol responded to the scene. Once they brought her to the bottom of the slope, they insisted she should see a doctor.

Opting to head back to her hotel instead, with her ski instructor in tow, Richardson admitted she was not feeling well approximately an hour after her fall. An ambulance was called and she was brought to the Centre Hospitalier Laurentian in Ste-Agathe before later being transferred to Hopital du Sacre-Coeur. No official statement regarding her condition has been released.
