Recovering Lance’s Tour De Twit

Who needs the ESPN ticker for up-to-the-minute coverage of your favorite athletes in the Twitter era?

Lance Armstrong, the cycling icon currently preparing for a comeback, suffered a setback in his bid when he broke his collarbone after crashing in a tune-up race in Spain.

Thankfully, he of the ubiquitous yellow bracelets kept his fans in the loop with a string of Twitter messages, listed in sequential order : “I’m alive! Broken clavicle (right). Hurts like hell for now. Surgery in a couple of days. Thanks for all the well wishes … Sitting here with [friend] at his house. Glass of wine, cheese and crackers. Now going to bed. Night, y’all … Sitting in the airport getting ready to fly home. Layover in NYC then ATX!! … Thanks to everyone here in Spain for all the help and support.”

RadarOnline wishes the inspirational icon a speedy recovery. Here, not on Twitter.
