Despite a blockbuster tour, accolades, and hit records, Carrie Underwood hasn’t lost sight of her roots. This week she returned to perform on American Idol, the show which catapulted her to fame, and relished being on that stage once again.
“The flood gates open and everything hits you at once,” season four winner Underwood said as she explained that moment. Despite being a veteran, she still gets a little stage fright. “I am nervous. I'm nervous every time I take the stage. I want to get up there and I want to show everybody why I won. It’s joy more than anything because I see so many people I haven't seen in a long time.”

Underwood has several Academy of Country Music Award nominations including Top Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year. Knowing how lucky she has been to be at such a great point in her career, Underwood is focusing on enjoying the moment. “Every time I think things can't get any better they do,” she said. “I've been so blessed throughout my career, but this past year has been very great. I’m humbled and I'm just lovin' all of it."
