Broadway Dims Lights In Natasha's Honor

A star-studded group, including Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker, joined Liam Neeson and Vanessa Richardson on Broadway Thursday night to mourn the death of Natasha Richardson. 

The lights of Broadway were dimmed at 8 p.m. to honor the actress, who died Wednesday after falling during a skiing lesson three days earlier. 

Neeson, clad in a peaked cap, embraced friends, less than 24 hours after the family's decision to remove the ailing actress from life support.

Some of Ricardson's most prolific work came on Broadway, as the actress took home a Tony Award in 1988 for her performance in Sam Mendes' Cabaret. In a statement following her death,  Mendes said of Richardson: "It defies belief that this gifted, brave, tenacious, wonderful woman is gone. She was one of a kind, a magnificent actress. She was also an amazing mother, a loyal friend, and the greatest and most generous host you could ever hope to meet."
