15 Hospital Workers Fired, Accused Of Snooping For Octo-Sperm Donor

Fifteen Kaiser Permanente employees out of the Bellflower branch have been fired, and eight more disciplined, for allegedly searching for the name of Nadya Suleman's sperm donor.

The alleged infractions were discovered via computer breaches that indicated who accessed Suleman's files, and what their reasoning was of doing so, Kaiser spokesman Jim Anderson told the LA Times.

The employees, Anderson said, didn't appear to be collecting the information to share or sell it.

"At best we can tell there's nothing to indicate that the people looked at the records provided it to anyone else," Anderson said. "You can only guess that this was human nature and curiosity that got the best of people."

The dismissed employees' jobs "ran the gamut of medical staff," he said.

Suleman's attorney, Jeff Czech, said that Suleman will not be suing the hospital, which internally ran refresher courses of patient privacy laws before the births in anticipation of the media frenzy that would follow.
