Yankee superstar Alex Rodriguez will address the media Tuesday afternoon regarding his recent admission of using banned substances, according to Newsday.com.

Rodriguez's reputation and legacy as a player have been tarnished since Sports Illustrated reported on February 7th that A-Rod had tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003. Rodriguez admitted on ESPN on February 9 that he had used illegal substances from 2001 to 2003 while with the Texas Rangers, though he did not reveal exactly what he used.

Tuesday, Rodriguez will hold a press conference in a tent outside Steinbrenner Field in Tampa to further address any steroid use. Andy Pettitte held a press conference in the same spot last year, when he met with the media for the first time since admitting using human growth hormone.

As was the case with Pettitte, Rodriguez is expected to have plenty of Yankees there to support him. Manager Joe Girardi has said he will sit by Rodriguez. Pettitte, Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada and Derek Jeter are all expected to attend as well.

"We simply want to be there to support him," Rivera said.

Many questions remain about exactly what Rodriguez used and for how long.
