Travolta's Son Dies

John Travolta and his son Jett. The teenage son of actor John Travolta died suddenly on Friday during a family vacation in the Bahamas, according to the police report.
Jett Travolta, 16, suffered a seizure at his family's vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island, attorney Michael Ossi said.
Attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene, Ossi said.
Jett, who had a history of seizures, was the eldest child of Travolta and his wife, actress Kelly Preston. They also have a daughter, Ella Blue, who was born in 2000.
Travolta and Kelly said son Jett suffered from Kawasaki disease.

UPDATE: RadarOnline.com has learned that Jett fell and struck his head before passing away. Both John and his wife Kelly Preston were at home when the tragedy happened. Jett was dead by the time he arrived at the hospital, sources in the Bahamas tell RadarOnline.com.
UPDATE: Officers at the Central Detective Unit on Grand Bahama received information at about 11:40 am on January 2 that Jett Travolta fell ill and was en route to the Rand Memorial Hospital via ambulance. He was pronounced dead upon arrival.
John Travolta, wife Kelly and Jett arrived on the island on December 30 by private plane and were staying at their suite at the Old Bahama Bay Resort.
In a disputed version of events, police say Jett was last seen on January 1 when he went to use the bathroom and was discovered around 10 am on January 2 by caretaker Jeff Michael Kathrain.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

UPDATE: In a 2003 interview on the Montel Williams TV show, Kelly Preston discussed her son Jett's battle with Kawasaki disease. "When he was about two years old, he became very, very ill, but it seemed like flu symptoms," she said. "When I took him to the doctor on about the third or fourth occasion, his fever in the doctor's office went up to 105. They had to bring it down. It was really scary. He had rashes all over his body. His lymph nodes were swollen." Kelly described how Jett kept getting sick and she kept taking him to the doctor until he was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease. "They don't know how you acquirer it," she told Montel. "They're not sure if its viral, if its through chemicals. It causes swelling in the organs, so your heart can swell, different important organs can swell.
"We thought at one point we were going to lose him. It was horrifying. "
She told Montel that she saw a link between carpet cleaners and Kawasaki disease. She went on to say that Jett suffered from allergies and asthma as well.
UPDATE: Jett was detoxed.
In her 2003 TV interview with Montel Williams, Kelly Preston talked about how she detoxed her son Jett with Scientology methods after he was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease. Kelly said: "Initially I had a friend of mine...an environmental scientist and a toxicologist, go through our home and tell us exactly what was going on in the home. It wasn't only the carpet. We had lots of cleansers under the sink. We were using all sorts of chemicals."
Kelly says she started Jett on a detox program called Clean--Clear Body and Clear Mind," an L. Ron Hubbard program. Hubbard is the founder of Scientology.
"This is a program that's detailed in the (Hubbard) book," Kelly told Montel. " We basically store all of these chemicals and poisons and toxins that you breathe, eat, that you're around constantly. Radiation from the son, you store it in your fatty tissues. And over the years it builds up and this is a program of how you can detoxify it completely and purify your body. It's brilliant."
