Digital TV Delay

You know all that talk about how TVs won't work after February 17 unless they undergo digital upgrade?
Forget it. For 4 months, anyway.
Citing the cost of the upgrade as an undue burden in a rotten economy, the Senate voted yesterday to postpone the changeover to June 12. The House is expected to make it law today.
There are still some 6.5 million households in America who get TV reception over-the-air rather than through cable. Many of those sets are in poorer homes.
"Delaying the upcoming DTV switch is the right thing to do," said Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller(D) of West Virginia, who wrote the bill. "I firmly believe that our nation is not yet ready to make this transition at this time."
No duh.
