We're talking about Masters of the Universe, the toy line about He-Man -- the prince who raises his sword and becomes a muscle-bound hero -- his nemesis Skeletor, and their friends and minions Gwildor, Teela, and Man-at-Arms. You remember 'em all.
Fans who have been trying to forget the big, bad 1987 film starring Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella will have their chance.
John Stevenson, who directed Kung Fu Panda, is bringing us a lavish new version of the property. The script is done and Stevenson is forging ahead.
"John had such passion that we found ourselves running to catch up with his vision," said Barry Waldo, an exec with Mattel, which owns the property.
No release date has been set.
