Wyclef Uses King Concert for Prez Bid

Stars were in a pontificating mood at Tuesday night's Dream Concert in Manhattan, honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and raising money for a King memorial in Washington, D.C.

Brit singer Joss Stone, who performed, spoke on the red carpet about Dr. King's legacy. "It's funny because ... everybody keeps asking me, 'Why are you here? Why do you care ... you're English?' I'm like, I don't get that question. He changed the world.... I wouldn't have the friends that I have, I wouldn't do my job the way that I do it."

Inside, headliner Stevie Wonder spoke from the stage about society after Dr. King's era: "We've not grown so much as that we, who are Christians or Muslims or whatever faith we serve and say that God or Allah is our leader, truly love God enough, or Allah enough, that we cannot put down our differences ... and we are still killing each other, and that is not in the spirit of the God that we serve."

Also during the concert, Wyclef Jean charmed the crowd, singing, "Obama, Hillary Clinton, they got competition, vote for me, vote for me, Wyclef for president ... If I was president, I'd get elected on Friday, assassinated on Saturday, married on Sunday, then go to back to work on Monday!"
